Wild Idea Grass-fed Buffalo vs Feed Lot Buffalo
There are a hundred ways that Americans can support the restoration of the Great Plains and the revival of the buffalo herds, but the most simple and honest way is to do it one bite at a time. It's also the healthy way. Not only is grass-fed buffalo a naturally leaner meat which means lower in calories, it has also been found to be lower in bad saturated fat and higher ingood fat or omega-3 fatty acids; it is also higher in selenium, which may reduce the risk for cancer. Instead of trucking feeder bulls to a feedlot, we let them mature with our herds on native grass pastures. And then, instead of trucking them again to the slaughter house for processing, we dress them
in the field under the supervision of state and federal meat inspectors.
The meat is fine cut and packaged at a local packing house, and
shipped directly to subscribers. Direct from the ranch to the consumer
with no middle men, or distributors.
You can count on your hands the number of ranchers who are raising prime age, two year old buffalo that meet our criteria: raised on native grass pastures, no time in a feedlot, no antibiotics or growth hormones, field dressed and butchered locally.
